Review : Man Vs. Wild

Have you ever heard about the TV programme known in NZ as “Man vs wild” before? It is also called “Born survivor-Bear Grylls in United Kingdom or ultimate survival in other countries”. It is a survival TV series on the discovery channel and on channel 4. The series is produce by British television production company Diverse Bristol.
I have been watching this programme on channel 70, SKY TV www.skytv.co.nz, and all new series on www.primetv.co.nz on Sunday 7.30pm
Bear Grylls is the main character in the series.
The basis theme is that Grylls’s going to somewhere away from civilization and he shows his effort to survive in extreme conditions such as in uninhabited islands or the deserts where nobody live over there or maybe yes, I am not sure. He’s got only a knife and his backpack when he is going away so he has to find and hunt for food and drink. For example, there is the scene that he was on the island and he got nothing to eat so he just climbed up to the cliff and tried to find things to eat and drink. Then he found some dirty water in a small pond, he drank that water and said ”This is the way to survive when you’ve got nothing”. Somehow he found a bird eggs and he stole the eggs and ate it like that, they’re raw!
To be honest, I do like this programme in some way such as when he tried to do difficult things to save himself. Such as he built the shelter to stay in at night . Sometimes he sleep on the ground and use the wood to make a fire place for save himself from snake and dangerous animals. However, I don’t really like when he eat or drink something raw and dirty like drinking his urine or eating slugs, larva or camel testis.
I can understand about the reason why he decided to do like that in the way to survive but if possible I prefer to just stay home and watch TV but I don’t want to do like that.
If you’ve never seen this programme, I’d like to recommend this one because I think it is a nice programme that you mustn’t miss! Actually, it is very interesting TV programme or even unbelievable for someone. Maybe if you love this programme like me or you don’t like it at all, let share our opinion about him and his experience in my blog.

Here is his photo in some episode.
